I've won over a dozen Golden Squeegee awards and judged the awards many times but I think I did one of the best set of seps that I've ever done for darks with SPS software this weekend.
We ran the first job as a 7 color sample on the manual. It looked so good we took it over to the Challenger and ran 100 dz on navy. The print looked awesome on navy and the consistency was great throughout the run. The detail in the print was way above the usual 65 line screen detail using halftones. Our usual run rate on darks is 40-45 dz/hr and with SPS seps we ran this job at 55 dz/hr due to a great fast flashing base white plate on 230 mesh.
The most amazing thing was the SPS seps took less than 30 minutes to do. Nothing special I just followed the directions in your comprehensive manual. It was our first set of seps with SPS and it was so easy. I don't know why anyone would want to use any other separation software.
I can't wait to run another set of seps and go to work.
