David Cran is a leading industry consultant based in Seattle Washington.

He is widely recognized as the leading expert on stochastic spot color separation

also known as "INDEXED" color separations.

An art school graduate with a degree in printmaking, he is a 30 year veteran of design and print for the

fine art print and textile industry.

He has owned and operated T-shirt printing shops in Australia, Canada and the USA.

With more than 25 thousand hours on graphic workstations

he has developed an expertise at design and color separations matched by

only a few. He has taught thousands of screen print artists the fine art of

spot color separation and creation using Photoshop and Illustrator.

His contributions to the t-shirt industry are many, but his invention of

stochastic spot color separations in the early 90's for textiles

  has been praised by thousands of T-shirt printers around the globe.

In 1995 he Introduced the first version of

"Screenprint Separator" a  combination software and step by step "how to"

gleaned from his years of teaching and producing index separations manually.

This program is now in use by thousands of businesses worldwide making it the

most widely used Plug-in for textile printers.

Users of Screenprint Separator have used David's methods to win more than 125

awards including many gold ribbons in the prestigious SGIA golden image competition.

David Cran was instrumental in introducing the industry to Ink Jet Film positives in 1999.

Anyone who has seen David at the many trade shows over the last several years

can't help but be astonished by his print samples and in particular his wicked sense of humor.

David Cran is also actively involved in Fine Art serigraphy and printmaking.

He has created screenprinting separations for hundreds of fine art printmakers.

He was chosen to do the separations for the New Orleans Jazz Festival in both 2004 and 2005 as well as the official poster for the Albuquerque Balloon Festival.
