The POSJET film positives are indistinguishable from the $20 per sheet positives from the service bureau.

Now I can separate and print several 10 color designs on 17"x22" film positives, and I can do it so much quicker than I ever thought possible.

Printing directly from Illustrator is a god send, because I deal with a ton of Postscript logos that I must incorporate into the design. The printed product is so high res, that we were able to read logos that were one eighth of an inch across.

We had an order for 15,000 pieces which we intended to print using simulated
process on black shirts. The sampling took hours and we weren't satisfied
with the result. We persuaded our customer to allow us to revise the art
using Screen Print Separator, while we absorbed the technical costs and the
added colors needed to pull this off. This decision paid for itself. We
were able to run faster with consistent prints and we didn't need to wipe the
screens. We did not have a problem with moiré or dot gain as we would with
process printing and the separation process was much easier. Your system
not only paid for the cost of the added screens we through in, it paid for
the separation system in time savings on this job alone.

Island Poets Clothing Company has used Screenprint Separator for the first time on the Diving Bear design.

This was a custom design and needed to be bright and colorful.

We had never separated or printed process or indexed artwork on white or colors. Our experience had been only with spot colors. We were initially concerned about limiting our seps to six colors to accomodate our press. We found that SPS performed beautifully on whites and the Iguana on black with an underbase was the true test.

We were thrilled with the ease of setting up and registering the design. The last prints came out looking as good as the first ones. We were able to achieve a full range of colors as seen in the Diving Bear design

From an artist standpoint, SPS offers me the ability to create much more complex designs in Photoshop and index the design, print it out in Illustrator at which point I can determine if I need to reindex the design or alter the artwork before going to press.

The printout in Illustrator looks almost exactly like the finished print. The technical support David gave me was invaluable. He was available to answer any questions I had and to help me through the process. We have since printed several other designs using SPS and were equally satisfied.

This has taken us to new level of printing.

possible. Selling seps to other screen printers, and outputing files for

a litho print company having problems with multiple spot colour blends

onto dark backgrounds. We use it in house on tricky transfers through to

black shirts. Already paid for and making money!

Our company originally purchased the 15 thousand dollar "Spot Process"

plug-in after I recomended it. While it worked ok for many images

we found that a "clean up" was often required and we still had issues with color accuracy and Moire . When I read about Screenprint Separator and learned that the program uses real colors directly from the image

and prints with random square dots I was hooked. The resolution and color of the first image we reprinted was a shock to say the least.

The Screenprint Separator plug-in and computer techniques

have revolutionized the way our art dept. works. This system has allowed

our artists to exercise more creativity and control over designs more

complex than we were previously able to produce. This method has also

proven to be an alternative to process printing, and we have used this

approach to produce results that look better than process printing.

After switching from Fast Films to Screenprint Separator it was very clear that the Freseners have been less than honest about "index Separations"

Over the last fifteen years, we've worked hard at producing the best prints possible by devoting much time and effort in the art department. Always looking for new ways to make our prints look

better as well as set-up and print easier, we have tried all sorts of separation methods from

hand cut/rubdown tone to Photoshop & Illustrator files and combinations of both. We've also had considerable success working with 4 color process, winning Impression Magazines 1996 First Place Award for True Process Printing. Even though our process prints looked great, we found it difficult to get a great print on the first try, often having to go back into the files to rework areas that didn't look right due to dot gain or other factors. This, of course, results in a new set of films, screens and setting the job up all over again.

Not exactly cost-effective in a production environment.

Once we purchased the software, we began to work at producing index seps using the examples and suggestions in the manual as a starting point. We had great results right off the bat, with regular inks and no halftones. As we continue to produce seps and continue to learn, each job looks better. We have found that with index color, the artist's ability is the main ingredient in a good design, just as it is with other methods. The Screenprint Separator software makes the job easier, faster and more flexible by allowing you to easily add postscript type and graphics.

Since introducing index color via Screenprint Separator into our art department, we have produced successful designs on both dark and light shirts for many of our clients including Don Prudhomme’s Miller Lite sponsored Snake Racing Top Fuel Dragster, George Cross & Sons Pomona Swap Meet, World Champion Funny Car driver Bob Newberry and numerous licensed designs for Creation Entertainment, including Xena, Hercules, The Drew Carey Show, Star Trek and the X-Files.

Screenprint Separator has allowed us to easily take our art and printing to a new level.

I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to tap into the advantages of index color.

provides the biggest time savings that I have ever encountered.

For the last year we have saved a lot of time in the art room and we find that using Illustrator to

print directly to our image setter is up to 10 times faster than printing directly from Photoshop.

We work with a number of sub contractors and

Our first job

Before, our normal routine for four colour process jobs was to send the

customers graphic to a service bureau and have costly separations made for

us. A week later they are ready for pick up.

The next morning the printers struggle to match the original artwork. The

customer comes in at noon and we say. "Well which one do you like best, the

one with the greenish fleshtones and the blue sky or the natural fleshtones

and the pinky-gray sky?"

Now we scan the original art, do the touch ups and resizing in Photoshop,

run a few tests to find the most effective number of colours (In our case

we are limited to a maximum nine screens.) and spit out the vellum

positives from our laser printer in less than two hours.

The next day the customer walks in and sees flesh coloured flesh, blue sky

and a punchy, crisp print that actually looks like the original.

For years everytime we did a four colour process job I always thought

there has got to be a better way to do it. Sceenprint Separator is the ruby

slippers of screenprinting. It has given us the artistic power to print

almost anything we can create on our PC.

I've been screen printing as a career since 1979. I currently own a small

manual shop, with 4 color and 6 color presses. I've done almost everything

there is to be done with artwork and color separations-handcut ruby, ink on

acetate, ink on tracing paper, separations in the camera, 4 color process

sent out to separation houses, computer separations, you name it,

I've probably done it.

A good part of my business is printing shirts for various rock acts, and a

bunch or car stuff.

Of course, everyone wants black shirts, too, with photographs in color.

I'd tried different methods in Photoshop, even went so far as to buy one of

those dark shirt printing courses.

All that happened there, was I spent a LOT of time dicking around, trying to get the

results I wanted, and not having a great deal of luck.

So when I heard about Screenprint Separator, my antenna went up. Being the

eternally curious screen printer I am, I was intrigued by the idea of a

piece of software that would let me pick the colors I wanted, separate the

art FOR me, and print out spot color separations. Oh yeah, and print it

with only 6 colors.

It just so happened, one of my suppliers, Dimensional Products, had just

hooked up with your company and was starting to distribute your software. I

jumped at the chance to find out what Screenprint Separator was all about.

the price was kinda scary ($1000 bucks!?) but if it did everything that I

was told it would do, well, the money was incidental.

I'd SAVE money because I'd save time.

Well, you know the rest of the story. An appointment was set up, you came

by, showed me what SpS. would do, and if I remember correctly, you walked

out with my check.

Man, I don't know what I'd do now without this software.

I do know that I

would not be able to print what I've been printing for the last year.

This software kicks ass, buddy!

you name it, I've used "Screenprint Separator" and it has saved me sooo much

time and effort, I can hardly believe it.

Your plug-in makes the index separating process very easy. I especially like the way you can import your files into Illustrator and add text and other elements when needed.
